 By using an old laptop, a home made chat-cord and some parts from an old telephone you can build a telephone tapping device. Add Atropos to the mix and you have yourself an telephone call archiving system that will save all incoming and outgoing calls. Maybe not that legal if you actually use it, as it’s illegal to tap phones in most contries. It’s probably even illegal to tap you own phone but a fun project non the less.  Ever thought about building a web controlled webcam? I sure have! Even though you can buy one today for not too much money, the challange is still interesting. Based on the parralax basic stamp starter kit 2, Jawed did just this. The project is mostly focused on the ‘difficult’ part (the programming) and you will have to use your own imagination for the attachment of the servo to the webcam.  Sometimes you need a tripod to put things on, like a camera or a telescope. A tripod. Plain and simple three legs that go together in one point where you attach whatever you want to attach. The problem is that the cheap ones available are not stable, and the stable ones are not cheap. This was the problem that Doug Nelle faced, and using his experience from building tripods earlier he now decided to build one that was stable enough – using crouches! Yepp, you read it right – crouches. By taking three old-style crouches that he bought from a nearby recycling center he made a stable tripod that can carry some serious weight.
